Explore whether this is the best program
for your family
We hope that
enrolling families are confident that this will be the best place for their family
until their child is ready to go to preschool. This is a big commitment! While
we understand that unforeseeable life changes affect the future, we hope that
each family performs enough research to make an intentional and informed choice
that will contribute to the quality, consistency, and sense of community of the
program.
1. Create
a family plan for beginning out-of-home care.
Helpful topics to consider
What
is our flexibility for starting care?
What
do we hope this new community will offer our child, us as parents, and our
family?
What
are factors that will affect our choice (i.e. location, cost, size,
philosophical/pedagogical approach, reputation, age ranges, teacher: child
ratios, certification, internal support structures, view of children,
availability of outdoor space, logistical layout, materials, sensory/art
opportunities, etc.)?
2. Review
the website.
Questions you may ask
yourself:
Do
our days, tuition rate, hours, and location work for you?
Do
the program goals align with your goals for your child and family?
Are
you interested in a new, intimate, eco-healthy, low-ratio, and in-home
environment?
3. Email
Amy (amy@tumbleweedinfanthouse.com)
for availability as well as any initial questions, requests for clarifications,
thoughts, wonderings.
4. Set up
visits here (by emailing Amy) and elsewhere.
Knowing
what your options are can help you feel most confident about your final choice.
Bringing
questions that will help you discover whether each program fits your family
plan for care can be extremely helpful.
